A Professional, Private Piano Studio in Cottonwood Heights

Karlyen Tan, NCTM, teaches piano at her home in Cottonwood Heights and at the University of Utah. She is a National Permanent Professional Certified Teacher of Music by the Music Teachers National Association. She received her Bachelor’s degree and her Master’s degree in Piano Performance from the University of Utah, where she studied with Gladys Gladstone.
Karlyen is an active member of the Utah Music Teachers Association and Utah Federation of Music Clubs. She is also a frequent adjudicator for piano festivals and competitions across Utah. Furthermore, Karlyen is the first teacher in the State of Utah to have three students receive the President’s 90-point Gold Cup from National Federation of Music Clubs in the same year.
